Who is Larry?
Luau Larry’s owes its name to a lucky coin toss between two friends, Ken Putnam and Larry Buster, who originally founded the restaurant together. When it came time to decide on a name, they flipped a coin — and “Luau Larry’s” won. Though Larry eventually sold his interest to Ken, his laid-back island spirit remains at the heart of everything we do. Today, Ken continues to carry the torch, keeping Luau Larry’s a beloved Catalina Island tradition where the good times, great drinks, and aloha spirit live on.
